Showcase Your Expertise in the 2027 Making Your Consulting Case (MYCC) Competition!
The Western Casewriters Association (WCA), theJournal of Case Research and Inquiry (JCRI), and ConsultPro Acceleratorinvite you to submit consulting cases for
the 2026-2027 “MAKING YOUR CONSULTING CASE” (MYCC) Competition.
WHO WILL BENEFIT MOST:
Instructors, students, and practitioners interested in establishing their expertise and crafting their edge as problem-solvers and consultants.
WHY?
1. It equips participants with a step-by-step process of making Consulting Cases and using them for their employability investment.
2. It provides participants with industry contacts and a portfolio, particularly in consulting and customer case management.
3. It gives participants recognition as an invited case consultant and, hopefully, a finalist and a winner of the “Making Your Consulting Case” Competition.
Finally, it provides participants with an opportunity for publication in a highly respected Journal of Case Research and Inquiry, Special Issue for Consulting Cases.
WHAT YOU SUBMIT:
Consulting cases typically have four components, also described below: (1) the CASE PROPOSAL, (2) THE COMPANY CASE, (3) THE CONSULTING REPORT, & (4) THE CASE BRIEF. Consulting cases can cover any business or organizational challenges in any subject matter and industry.

Dr. Ivy’s workshop for case writers interested in submitting their cases to MYCC competition.
In the workshops, Julia Ivy will share a step-by-step process for making consulting cases and how they can be included in the class as a final project.
Both workshops are virtual and led by Dr. Julia Ivy, Strategy and International Business Executive Professor at Northeastern University, Chair, “Making Your Consulting Case” Competition, and Editor, Journal of Case Research & Inquiry Special Issue on Consulting Cases. Dr. Ivy is the author of the workbook for students, Crafting Your Edge For Today’s Market: Using the BE-EDGE Method for Consulting Cases and Capstone Projects (Ivy, 2019) and the article for instructors Ivy (2024) “Making Your Consulting Case as a Tool for Employability Investments”. Under Dr. Ivy’s mentorship, her students developed 250+ consulting cases for companies in 23 countries.

CONSULTING CASE Manuscript & Submission Form.
The manuscript includes the COMPANY CASE and CONSULTING REPORT. Further details will be provided to everybody who submits a CASE PROPOSAL (above).

Finalists are invited to submit a CASE BRIEF, which is a structured synopsis of the consulting case – for our Case Gallery.
March 10, 2027
Announcement of the winners of the “Making Your Consulting Case” Competition at the WCA conference in Kauai, HI. Detailed feedback will be provided on all cases submitted.
April 30, 2027
Authors submit cases for publication in the JCRI special issue.
