Research Shows Mid-Professionals Are More Future-Ready Than They Think
Many mid-career professionals, especially those aged 45–60, often question whether they can stay competitive in today’s rapidly changing job market. Recent research from BE-EDGE, however, shows that most are more prepared than they realize.
Drawing on assessment data from professionals worldwide, the study measured two crucial areas of employability:
-
Psychological readiness — mindset, adaptability, and confidence to claim one’s space in the professional market
-
Professional readiness — the skills and positioning to thrive in a niche market
The findings were clear:
-
10 out of 11 professionals aged 45–60 demonstrated readiness on both fronts
-
Only 1 in 11 was not yet fully prepared
“This research challenges the perception that professionals at mid-career are falling behind,” said a member of the BE-EDGE team. “In fact, most already have the psychological and professional strengths needed — they just lack the clarity to see it.”
To help individuals identify their own standing, BE-EDGE developed the Are You Ready for the Future of Work? assessment. Unlike traditional career quizzes that offer generic advice, this 1-minute test provides focused, evidence-based insights into both psychological and professional readiness.
