FAQ: Course Creation

Who can become a course creator?

Anyone with expertise in a specific field and a passion for teaching can apply. No prior teaching experience is required.

What topics can I create a course on?

Any industry-relevant topic where learners can gain practical, portfolio-ready experience. Just make sure it’s not already on our course list.

Do I need teaching experience to create a course?

No, but you should have a clear understanding of your topic and a structured way to explain it.  All course creators are required to complete our “BE a Course Creator” course to ensure quality and consistency.

How do I structure my course?

We provide a simple framework to help you design engaging lessons, including video, quizzes, and real-world projects.

Can I update my course after publishing?

Yes, you have full control over your content and can update it anytime.

Will I get paid for creating a course?

There are two options:

  1. You can receive an upfront payment for creating the course, depending on your expertise.
  2. You get 50% of the course payment upfront, and the remaining 50% comes from your monthly sales.

How will this help my career?

Creating a course establishes you as an expert in your field, strengthens your portfolio, and helps you build a professional audience.

FAQ: If You Don’t Have a Client

Can I propose a client for my course?

Yes! If you already have a real client or partner organization in mind, you can absolutely propose their challenge as the core case for your course. Just make sure the challenge is relevant and allows learners to apply the E-D-G-E method.

What if I don’t have a client yet?

No worries — we can match you with one. We work with startups, entrepreneurs, and nonprofits who are open to collaborating. Just focus on your course structure, and we’ll help you align it with a real-world case. Here’s a list of our case clients.

What qualifies as a “client challenge”?

A client challenge should be a real problem the client is facing — for example, lack of brand identity, unclear market positioning, or low customer engagement. It should be solvable through research, analysis, and design-thinking strategies.

Do all courses need a client challenge?

If your course is meant to be case-based and skills-applied (as many BE-EDGE courses are), then yes. Real-life challenges help learners gain portfolio-ready experience and build trust with potential employers.

Can I update my course after publishing?

Yes, you have full control over your content and can update it anytime.

Can I create a hypothetical case instead?

Yes — especially if it’s based on industry trends or common business problems. Just make it realistic and structured like a real case.

In this case, you will serve as the client, and learners will work on solving the challenge you’ve presented.

Will I get help shaping the challenge into a course?

Absolutely. Once your topic is approved, we’ll guide you in framing the challenge, integrating it into your modules, and supporting learners through the E-D-G-E flow.
